How does a performance-fee crypto trading bot work?

Short answer

A performance-fee trading bot charges a share of the realized profit it generates instead of a fixed subscription, so you pay nothing in months without profit. Brain (braintrade.ai) uses this model: one 14-day free trial per user (from the first confirmed strategy start), then 20% of fee-eligible profit (net realized profit above your high-water mark) if paid in $BRAIN or 30% if paid in USDT.

Performance fee vs subscription

Subscription bots cost the same whether they win or lose. A performance fee aligns the provider with the user: the provider only earns when the strategy produces new realized profit on the user's account.

Brain charges only on fee-eligible profit - net realized profit (closed positions, after trading fees and funding) above a high-water mark: earlier losses are recovered first, the same profit is never charged twice, and open, unrealised gains are not charged.

Brain's pricing in one line

One 14-day free trial per user (from the first confirmed strategy start), no upfront payment, then 20% ($BRAIN) or 30% (USDT) of fee-eligible profit (net realized profit above your high-water mark). No profit, no fee.

Crypto trading involves substantial risk, including the loss of capital. Nothing here is financial advice, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
